Michelangelo’s Tuscan Estate for Sale

Michelangelo’s Tuscan estate, complete with 200 olive trees and the original olive oil mill, is on the market for $9.27 million. The purchase also comes with a copy of the original deed, signed by Michelangelo himself.

The villa was built in the 11th century and purchased by the artist in 1547, and it stayed in the family for three centuries. The current owners have “lovingly restored” the building to preserve its rich history, including its two guest apartments and ancient Etruscan driveway. The 12,000-square-foot main house of the villa is comprised of 10 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and several functioning fireplaces. The kitchen is equipped with the original hearth, and several bedrooms and living rooms have original barrel-vaulted brick ceilings and wooden ceiling beams. The villa has incredible sweeping views of the countryside, and is located near Castellina di Chianti, not far from Siena.
