Cali Was the Mission But Now The Weeknd’s Leaving

Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, better known as “The Weeknd,” is ready to let go of his Hidden Hills property for $25M. The artist purchased the estate back in 2017 for $18.2M, according to records, and, according to his record breaking records, he left it pretty much vacant.

“Twenty-mil mansion, never lived in it.

Zero edge pool never dipped in it.

Superstar neighbor in my business.

Paparazzi tryna catch me slipping and…”

– The Weeknd, “Snowchild”

The mansion, nearly 14,000 sq. ft. of living space on a 3-acre lot, contains nine bedrooms, eleven bathrooms, a guest house, a cabana, and several luxurious amenities.

Built-in 2017, this home is designed to stun as guests are introduced to the interior by a double-height ceiling and coke-white walls. The foyer leads to a formal dining and living room that features wooden details.

The first story also includes a large kitchen with two islands, a family room with a fireplace and bar, a centerpiece, and a $20,000 table cut from ebony.

The dual master suites have attached master bathrooms, the library doubles as perfect office space, and the wine room keeps bottles at the perfect temperature for aging and serving. Other amenities include a home theater, and a fitness room, while the outdoors offer a whole new list of entertainment options.

Outside you’ll find several terraces, an in-ground pool, a basketball and tennis court, a spa, and, of course, astonishing views of the hills, the redwoods, and those superstar neighbors that always get in The Weeknd’s business.

The five-car parking alcove could use some more space, but when you’re this rich, you might as well buy a commercial warehouse for your cars like Kanye West, who buys what he wants, like his $14M Wyoming ranch and all it’s accompanying toys.

The Weeknd has a stacked portfolio. In 2019 the three-time Grammy winner purchased a massive residence in Beverly West Tower in Westwood for $21M.

Besides his 8,200 sq ft condo in California, the superstar also rents out a penthouse in Tribeca for $60,000/month. The Manhattan property is also on the market for $27.5M.

About 8 years ago, we heard to The Weeknd tell us “Cali is the mission.” Well, he succeeded, and today he’s finally “leaving into the night,” onto his next mission. It’s time for someone else to inherit this home and continue the legacy.
