Marisa Tomei, Academy Award-winning and three-time Oscar-winning actress best known for her role in the movie, “My Cousin Vinny,” has listed her Manhattan home for $7.5 million.
The apartment was originally two separate condos, both one-bedrooms. However, in the two decades Tomei has owned the properties she has combined them to create a luxurious, 2,300 square feet Greenwich Village apartment.
One apartment became the home’s celebrity-grade master suite, which features a wood-burning fireplace, beamed ceilings, a 200 square-foot dressing room and walk-in closet, and a terrace. The second now holds a large great room with another fireplace, a second bedroom, and a kitchen equipped with commercial-style stainless steel appliances. Between the two areas are a library and a home office, each with doors opening onto the master. There are two baths overall; both bedrooms are en-suite.
The building was designed by New York architecture heavyweight Emory Roth in 1931. Tomei has done a brilliant job of combining modern, contemporary style and design to the space while, also, maintaining the classic period charm of the original apartment era.
